Came here for emergency after I burnt my hand in a near by camping accidence. The team are efficient, kind and knowledgable. Penny, you are a God-damn hero. Thank you for being awesome.
Went to the emergency department on a Sunday mid morning with a very nasty cut on my leg. The team were incredibly efficient and I was out in just on an hour with my 9 new stitches...sorry Gold Coast, but your emergency departments don't come close to this. It was also a busy morning.
If you go in for surgery and have been asked to fast, make sure you pack a meal to eat afterwards. My partner had to fast for his surgery, and afterwards he was told that he had missed out on dinner at 5:15pm. meaning he wasn't given any food the entire time he was there from 9am (except he had been fasting since the night before). I must mention thought that the staff is incredibly FRIENDLY otherwise, and do an amazing job at attending to and caring. Just the unavailability of food is a real concern, as feeling hungry while in pain is very discomforting
I am a local and have had 3 babies there and been there on a number of occasions so has my husband and are very proud to say we had the best of care from doctors and midwives alike we love you all at murwillumbah district hospital xoxo
I had the best of care. At the emergency they were very talkative and friendly and made me feel at home. In the surgical ward the nurses were so helpful and kind. The visiting doctor was very thorough. I guess also i was not a high needs patient. However if my husband were to write his experiences, it would not be as glowing as mine. At the surgery he was well spoken to and looked after. Unfortunately at the ward, terrible. He was mot even told that he was staying the night. Neither did they phone me. I just witnessed, he can't move after the operation and yet was not provided with a buzzer to call for help. He asked for water and they told him the water will vome later with the tea server, when he's expected to drink lots. These are the facts.
